DIPHTHERIA.
There were 60 deaths ascribed to this disease as against an annual average
of 118 in the preceding 20 years. This is a very considerable decrease. The
deaths are, however, 18 above the return of the preceding year, and nearly
double the return (32) of 1906, which was preceded in 1905 and 1904 by very
low returns, the deaths numbering only 34 and 28 respectively.
