The total amount thus received was £121 2s. 0d., being the sum payable for the 1,211 sets of baths given.

These baths were as under:—

393 children received1 bath each set.
139 do. do.2 baths do.
498 do. do.3 do.
107 do. do.4 do.
68 do. do.5 do.
6 do. do.6 do.
*1,211 do. do.2,969 baths.

* (Note.—43 of these sets were commenced in 1913 and completed in the current year.)

A few baths were given to children residing in other Boroughs, but attending schools in Islington, as under:—

St. Pancras75
Stoke Newington45
Hackney7
Shored itch4
131 Separate baths.

The average daily attendance of children at the baths throughout the
year was 14, ranging from 2 to -30 per day.
In many instances children were found in such a verminous condition
as to necessitate their being given at least two, sometimes five and even six
sets of baths, which ranged from two to as many as 20 separate baths; the
actual figures beii.g 204 children who were given 522 sets of baths.
Deducting these 522 sets of baths from the total number of sets given
(1,211) it is seen that 689 children were given one set of baths only and if to
these are added the 204 children mentioned above we get the actual total
of 893 children dealt with.
At the outset of this work it was estimated, on information supplied
by the London County Council, that there were 3,600 school children who
were to be found in a more or less verminous condition during the year, but
only 50 per cent, of this number, viz., 1,800, was taken as a basis.
