DIABETES MELLITUS.
This disease caused 29 deaths, which although two more than those which
Were registered in 1911, are nevertheless the same as the average for the
preceding 10 years- Of the deceased, 19 were males and 10 females, which
shows an excess of four males and a similar decrease of females when compared
with the decennial average. More than one-third of the deaths occurred
at the age period 55-65, and slightly more than one-fourth from 65-75.
It will, therefore, be seen that it is a disease of elderly people.
