Deaths.
1,817 deaths were registered in the City in the 52 weeks of 1927.
After deducting 1,015 deaths of non-citizens in public institutions, etc., in
the City, and adding those of 880 citizens who died in other districts,
the corrected total is 1,682, as compared with 1,608 in 1926, and is
equivalent to an annual rate of 12.3 per 1,000 persons (civilian
population).
The London death-rate for 1927 was 11.9 (civilians only), for England
and Wales 12.3. These rates are a little higher than in 1926 for the
country as a whole. The number of deaths and the death-rates per
1,000 for the past fifteen years are shown below:—
