Attendance during Confinement.—The Council's midwife attended necessitous women and emergency cases in the Pimlico area.

In 16 instances booked for attendance and visited, the women were
unable to be confined at home on account of abnormalities or
unsuitable home conditions, and were admitted to hospital.
In the St. John and St. Margaret's area, the Health Society has two
midwives who attend the Westminster Hospital out·door cases. The
Society also does the out·patient maternity work of Charing Cross
Hospital, and has two midwives for this object.
