Deaths.
1,763 deaths were registered in the City in the 52 weeks of 1922.
After deducting 838 deaths of non-citizens in public institutions in the
City, and adding those of 871 citizens who died in other districts, the
corrected total is 1,796, as compared with 1,623 in 1921, and is equivalent
to an annual rate of 12.9 per 1,000 persons.

The London death-rate for 1922 was 13.4 (civilians only), for England and Wales 12.9. All the rates are slightly higher than in 1921. The number of deaths and the death-rates per 1,000 for a series of years are shown below:—
