Occupations of Foreigners.—Nearly all the Russian and Polish and a
-considerable number of the German and Austrian immigrants are
tailors. Germans, Austrians, Swiss and French provide a large proportion
of those in service in connection with hotels and restaurants as
waiters and cooks. Germans, French and Swiss are also found as
domestic indoor servants. Germans in fair proportion also act as
commercial clerks.
