In addition, in connection with Laundries there were cases of the
above three classes:—

In all these cases the patients were removed to hospital and the
premises disinfected.
In no instance was it found necessary to stop work being given out
to workers in premises which were in an insanitary condition, any such
defects found were forthwith remedied, and none of them were of a
serious character.
Sixty visits were paid to Domestic Workrooms, i.e., where no work
was being taken in from another business firm, and no one outside the
family was ever employed.
Factory and Workshops Bill (116).—This Bill was introduced into
Parliament last Session to amend and strengthen certain of the sections
of the existing. Act. I reported on it as follows:—
" Clause 1 relates to outworkers, and would apply all the provisions
of existing Acts to the places to which work is sent to be done, and
would treat the giver out of the work as the occupier of the place.
Apparently this is intended to bring ' domestic workshops under the
Act,' but it would be impracticable to make the giver out of the work
responsible for cleansing, &c., of the premises to which he may give out
work.
" Sub-clause 5 asks for lists of outworkers to be sent in four times
a year instead of twice, as at present. There is sufficient trouble now
