I have prepared the following Table showing the number of cases of these diseases removed to Hospital, and the number treated at home, during the twelve months ending March 31st, 1889.

The articles disinfected in the hot-air disinfecting
chamber belonging to the Parish were as follows:—

95 Mattresses 80 Bolsters
40 Palliasses 164 Pillows
89 Quilts 39 Dresses
209 Blankets 28 Shawls
20 Waistcoats 38 Coats
25 Trowsers 43 Towels
52 Carpets 62 Cushions
21 Hearthrugs 32 Table Covers
40 Curtains 30 Rugs
16 Suits of Clothing
and a quantity of Sundry Articles.
The total number of complaints attended to was greater,
but that of notices served was less than in 1887; it was,
however, only necessary to take legal proceedings in one
case during the year. In this case a summons was taken
out against the occupier of a house for neglecting to carry
out the improvements ordered, but he absconded before the
case came on.
The markets have been regularly inspected and kept in
good order, so that it has only been necessary to condemn
articles of food exposed for sale in two cases,
