Of these 146 samples, only five, viz., 4 samples of Butter
and 1 of Milk, were bought by private purchasers; of the
4 samples of Butter, 2 were genuine, 1 contained 70 per
cent. and the other 83 per cent. of foreign fats, and I gave
certificates to that effect. The sample of Milk contained
7 per cent. of added water.
