Butter.— Of 5 samples, 3 were found to be genuine,
one poor, and one largely adulterated with foreign fats,
and a certificate to that effect was given to the purchaser.
Tea.— Of 8 samples analysed, 5 were genuine, 2 fairly
good and one contained exhausted leaves.
Vinegar.— Of 4 samples, got to obtain information,
3 were genuine and 1 adulterated with Sulphuric Acid.
Cream.— One sample, brought by a parishioner, was
genuine.
Whiskey.— A sample, which had been complained of,
was found to be genuine.
Of the above 67 samples only 3 were brought by
parishioners, and only one bought by the Inspector on
the complaint of a parishioner; 2 were procured by me
from a house where there was a case of enteric fever, and
the rest were all bought by the Inspector under my
instructions.
