of the existence of infectious diseases, as will be more
fully explained in the body of the Report.
From Table I. it will be seen that the total number
of deaths, viz.: 1867, was higher than it has been in any
year since 1871, and higher than the average for the seven
years, 1868-1874; but it must be noted that the number
of deaths in Public Institutions in the Parish, 502,
was very high indeed, our due share of such deaths
being only 362.
