20 Paillasses 30 Carpets
53 Quilts 13 Hearth-rugs
100 Blankets 19 Curtains
67 Sheets
And a large number of articles of clothing.
In the majority of instances in which houses, where
there had been cases of typhoid fever (and low fever), were
examined, sanitary defects were found and remedied, the
commonest one being one alluded to in previous Reports,
viz., the connexion of the waste pipe of the cistern with the
house drain.
On the outbreak of scarlet fever taking place, I prepared
a list of directions for the prevention of its spread,
and the Committee ordered them to be printed and distributed.
This was done, and copies can be obtained from the
Sanitary Inspector.
