Asphalte.
The Society Francaise des Asphaltes have, during the
year, paved the following footways with asphalte, which
has been carried out at the rate of 5s. per yard super.,
including the Portland cement concrete foundation 3 in.
thick and 1 in. of asphalte.
The work has been done in a very satisfactory manner,
and promises to be a cleanly and durable footway.
With the view of testing the merits of asphalte as a
footway paving, the Vestry have had several samples laid
down in this Parish, and so far as I am able to judge from
my experience, I am of opinion that the asphalte laid by
this Company is equal to any I have seen.
