DISINFECTION.
The total number of disinfections of rooms during the year by the
Council's disinfecting staff was 5,634. Of this number 2,576 rooms were
disinfected after the occurrence of the ordinary notifiable infectious
diseases, as against 3,009 rooms in 1926. 3,058 periodical sprayings of
rooms occupied by Phthisical patients were also carried out during the
year.
627 verminous rooms were sulphured and otherwise cleansed by
the Council's staff during the year, as against 637 in 1926.
Among the total number of disinfections (5,634) it was found
necessary to strip 239 rooms. Of these 181 were in relation to the
notifiable diseases and 58 after the termination of cases of Phthisis.
