SMALL POX.
No case of this disease was notified during the year 1921.
SCARLET FEVER.
During the year under consideration 1,266 cases were notified, with
13 deaths. The number of notifications was the highest recorded since
1914.
The greatest number of cases occurred in St. Mary, St. Paul,
St. Peter and St. John's Wards.

Of the 1,266 cases notified in the present year, as many as 1,240 were
removed to hospital, i.e., 98 0 per cent., as against 97'9 per cent, for
last year.
The deaths in the 1,266 cases sent to hospital numbered 13, a
mortality of 1.0 per cent.
In regard to the 26 cases nursed at home, they all recovered.
The annual rate of mortality was 0 07.
DIPHTHERIA.
There has been a slight decrease in the number of cases of Diphtheria
notified during the year under consideration.
The total notifications numbered 537 and the deaths 30 for the year
The percentage of deaths to the cases notified was 56.
The annual mortality per 1,000 inhabitants was 0.16.
