SALE OF FOOD AND DRUGS ACTS.
Daring the year ending 2nd January, 1909, 1,703 samples were
taken by the Inspectors.*
The following Table shews the localities in which these samples were
taken:—

121 of these samples were certified as adulterated, a percentage
of 7.1. Compared with the percentage of adulteration for the previous
year an increase of 0 7 is shewn.
Particulars of the samples taken together with the results of the
analyses are given in table 60.
* Mr. David, inspector for St. George's Ward, carried out his duties as Assistant
Inspector under the Food and Drugs Acts, at different periods, amounting to twentyfour
week days and two Sundays, during 1908.
