To the Public Health Committee.
Gentlemen,
I have to report that we are receiving, under the General Powers
Act of 1904, notice of many cases of verminous rooms, persons and
bedding. We have experienced lately the greatest difficulty with regard
to the cleansing of the occupants of the rooms when many children are
concerned. It is necessary to have them removed to the Reception
House whilst their rooms are being fumigated and themselves cleansed.
It is unfortunate that we are compelled to bring these verminous people
into the Reception House which ought never to be used for such a
purpose. There is a distinct risk of cleanly people who reside in the
