No case of this disease was notified during the year.

SCARLET FEVER.
The deaths from Scarlet Fever in the Borough were 28 during 1905,
as against 12 for the year 1904.
The total number of cases notified was 776 this year, as against 415
for 1904.
The percentage of deaths to the total cases notified was 3.6.
The annual mortality per 1,000 living was 0.13.

Of the 776 cases notified in the present year, as many as 740 were
removed to hospital, i.e., 95'5 per cent.
The deaths in the hospital cases were 28, a mortality of 3-8 per cent.
36 cases were treated at home, with no death.
DIPHTHERIA.
This disease has shown a case fatality far in excess of what has
been seen for many years past.
The notifications were fewer in number than ordinarily, but the
death-rate of the disease was high.
