Legal Proceedings.
In October, the landlord of houses in Gaselee Street was summoned
at Thames Police Court for not supplying certain information necessary
for the registration of the houses, which were in a dirty and verminous
condition and much overcrowded. Fined £3 and £3 9s. costs.
Registration.
During the year 22 houses were added to the number on the registers,
making the total at the end of the year 1010.
Nuisances.
Nuisances and defects that came to my notice and could not be dealt
with under the Bye-laws were duly reported to the Inspector for the
district.
London County Council General Powers Act, 1904 (Section 20).
A large number of rooms were rid of vermin through intimations
being served under this Act, and in no case was it necessary for the
Medical Officer of Health to issue a certificate for notices to be served.
