The excess of births was as follows : —

The male births in the Borough exceeded those of the female by
0, but the male deaths exceeded those of the female by 182, which
makes a gain of 92 females.
At the end of the years 1888, 1899, and 1900 there was also an
excess of females for the Parishes of Poplar and Bromley. In'the
Borough for the years 1901, 1902 and 1903 females also exceeded the
males.
