Board stated "they have considered the suggestion of the Council
that the visitation of patients at the Small pox hospitals should be
prohibited. They do not feel that with regard to patients dangerously
ill they can adopt such a proposal, and, if attempted, believe
the effect of such prohibition would be to delay, if not prevent
isolation. The Board have power to make re-vaccination a condition
of visiting, but consider it would be unwise to exercise that power.
The advisability of re-vaccination is urged by the Medical Officer
in every case where a visitor is not already protected, and the
names and addresses of all visitors forwarded to the Medical Officer
of the district in which they reside. The Board do not feel that
any increase in the stringency of the existing regulations is
necessary."
