ATMOSPHERIC POLLUTION.—Reference was made by Dr. Stewart in his introductory letter to his Annual Report
for 1952 to "one of the worst fogs on record" which occurred in the last month of that year. Subsequently the Public
Health Committee obtained the approval of the Council for the installation in the borough of a recording apparatus for
measuring the rainfall, insoluble and soluble deposits and the sulphur dioxide content of the atmosphere which, with
the consent of the London County Council, has been installed on the roof of the Welfare Centre, 283a, Harrow Road.
