In accordance with the usual practice, the birth, death, and morbidity rates in this report
have been based on the estimate obtained by the Waters' method.
METEOROLOGY.
The results of the observations made at the Royal Botanic Society's Garden, and published
by The Times, are shown in Table I. The summaries of the summer and autumn months
given below are of interest in connection with the occurrence of diarrhœa. Last year the
prevalence of that disease was most marked at the end of August and the beginning of
September, whereas in 1913 the period of exceptional incidence occurred during the autumn
months—September-November.
