TUBERCULOSIS.
The deaths from pulmonary tuberculosis (see below) numbered 151, viz., 144 from "chronic
phthisis" and 7 from "acute."

The total mortality from all forms of the disease was 1.29, as compared with 1.28 in 1913
and 112 in 1911, and an average of 1.30 for the five years 1909-13. The mortality rates
observed in the Wards are shown below.

Sex-age and Ward distributions of the deaths from each form of tuberculosis will be found
in Table 26.
The mortality from pulmonary tuberculosis in the Borough was at the rate of 1.05 per 1,000
persons last year, as compared with 1.07 in 1913 and 0.82 in 1912. The mortality from all other
forms of tuberculosis was 0.24 in 1914, 0.21 in 1913 and 0.32 in 1912. The rates for the circumjacent
districts will be seen in Table 11.
