children under 10 without any (legal) overcrowding. It is believed that the empty rooms
would have accommodated over 12,000 persons without causing overcrowding (if anvthing
more than half the occupants were children under 10), which would come under the by-laws.
It is not intended to suggest that such an aggregation would be either healthy or desirable,
the figures being given merely as an approximation of the accommodation at that date
available. The distribution of the accommodation (numbers of rooms) in the different Wards
is indicated below —

causes of which were:—

In addition to the 5 applications for Certificates under Sec. 11 of the Revenue Act, 1903,
remaining over from 1907, 16 fresh applications were dealt with. The 21 applications were
covered by 7 certificates, 5 of which were issued prior to December 31st, and 2 just after.
The certificates referred to 65 tenements.

Slaughterhouses.—There were seven (7) slaughterhouses in use during the past year,
situate as described below :—

Southwick Mews, No. 15. Harrow Road, No. 125.
Edgware Road, No. 275. Upper Brook Mews, No. 6.

The renewal of the licence for No. 1, Bishop's Mews, was opposed on the ground that
