At the Lewisham Centre 2,325 attendances were made by
mothers and 8,162 by children, while at the Downham Centre
mothers made 1,211 attendances and children 4,361 attendances.

(b) Voluntary Infant Welfare Centres.
There are 11 Voluntary Infant Welfare Centres in the Borough,
each conducted by a committee of voluntary workers with a Superintendent,
who is a co-opted member of the Maternity and Child
Welfare Sub-Committee of the Council. A Medical Officer and
Health Visitor belonging to the Staff of the Borough Council attend
all but three sessions held by the Voluntary Committees. At these
three sessions, which are held in the mornings at Forest Hill,
Brockley and Bellingham, no doctor at present holds consultations
