Public Health (Shell Fish) Regulations, 1934.
These regulations which came into operation on 1st June, 1935,
revoke the Public Health (Shell Fish) Regulations, 1915, and replace
them by provisions which are generally similar but are modified
in certain respects.
Under the new regulations, the Medical Officer of Health is
required to make an investigation with regard to any laying from
which suspected shell fish have been derived and to make a report
to the local authority.
Food and Drugs (Adulteration) Act, 1928.
During the year under review 803 samples of food, drugs, etc.,
were obtained by the Council's Inspector and submitted to the
Public Analyst for examination. Of this number 171 were purchased
formally in accordance with the provisions of the above-named Act,
and the remaining 632 were obtained informally as "test" samples.
One formal sample only was certified as adulterated or below
standard by the Public Analyst.
