Shops Act, 1934.
This Act received the Royal Assent on the 25th July, 1934, and
came into operation on the 30th December, 1934.
The Act contains important provisions for : —
(a) Regulating the hours of employment of persons under
the age of 18 years employed about the business of a shop or
in retail trade elsewhere, and in particular for limiting the
normal hours of employment of such young persons to a fortyeight
hour week (fifty-two hours a week before the 27th
December, 1936), and
