Professional Nursing in the Home.—The. Council do not
directly employ nurses for outside work, but several of the
Churches in the Borough retain the services of trained nurses for
the benefit of their respective parishioners, and eleven Ranyard
Nurses are working in various parts of the Borough. Under
the powers granted by the Maternity and Child Welfare Act,
and the Public Health (Pneumonia, etc.), Regulations, agreements
have been entered into whereby the services of these nurses
are available for nursing cases of measles, pneumonia and
ophthalmia neonatorum, a fee of 1s. 3d. per visit being paid by
the Council.
