The important aspect of the exhibition was participation by the children.
Publicity was obtained by press reports and an interview for Radio London.
The exhibition was open on the Saturday and a special feature of the Saturday
morning was a visit by Pierre the Clown. "SMILE" provided a follow up to dental
health education in schools and an opportunity for large numbers to be involved
in a relatively short period of time. The content of the exhibition not only provided
an opportunity to promote dental health but also enabled children to more closely
acquaint themselves with dental procedures and thus reduce apprehension about dental
treatment.
