NUISANCE ARISING FROM STOPPED UP DRAINS - EMERGENCY SERVICE
In December 1965 the Council agreed that the Department be given general
authority under Section 22 of the Public Health Act 1961, on application from
owners or occupiers, to carry out emergency rodding of stopped up drains, and
that this service be free of charge.
The service has proved highly successful and has been much appreciated by
the Ratepayers and there has also been a saving of time of the technical and
administrative staff.
74 drains were cleared as a matter of urgency during the year.
LEGAI. PROCEEDINGS
Statutory action was taken in respect of 105 cases for failure to comply with
Notice under Section 93 of the Public Health Act 1936.
