was considerable during the four months from 1st November, and
with the effects of other recent legislation has led to delay in the
preparation of this Report. Moreover, the fact that, apart from one
of the three Tuberculosis Officers, the Medical Officer of Health
is the only whole-time medical officer in the employment of the
Council of a borough with a population of well over a quarter of a
million is not without effect in causing delay.
The Registration sub-districts were altered from five to four on
1st April, 1935, and are now co-terminous with the Wards.
Thanks are gratefully tendered to members of the Maternity and
Child Welfare and Public Health Committees for advice and
criticism, to the general practitioners and other medical men
working in the Borough, and principally to the staff of the Public
Health Department.
