Pbaraacy and Poisons Act 1933.
During the year the Poisons List Order, 1961, and the Poisons Rules, 1961.
were made by the Home Secretary. The Order added, inter alia, certain substances to the
poisons lists, and the Rules imposed appropriate requirements and restrictions on the
sale of special poisons.

Rag Flock and other Filling Materials Act, 1951.
The Rag Flock and other Pilling Materials Regulations,1951, and 1954,are superseded by
Regulations made during 1961. The current Regulations prescribe
(a) Used wood wool as a filling material to which the Act applies;
(b) Standards of cleanliness for each kind of filling material;
(c) Analysts for the purposes of tests under the Act, the fees, and
the form of certificate of the results;
(d) The form in which records are to be kept by occupiers of premises
registered under the Act.

Prevention of Damage by Pests Act 1949
Complaints of rodent infestation during the year numbered about the same as last year.
Details of inspection and visits, and the number of infestations found are given in the
table (a) below:-
Forty two infestations were traced to defective drains, and six to unsealed fittings,
or dis- used drains.
