Measles
The number of measles cases notified in 1960 was somewhat higher than in the previous
year, which had been considerably lower than the average. As will be seen, however, from
the chart showing the monthly distribution, measles incidence was relatively low during
the first nine months of the year, but began to show a steady rise in October. This rise
continued to the end of the year and into the early part of 1961 to a high level.
