Measles
The number of measles cases in 1959 was the lowest for many years with the exception
of 1954. As will be seen from the chart, most of the cases occurred in the winter and
early spring, with a moderate secondary rise about mid-summer. There were very few cases
in the second half of the year.
The following table shows the age-groups of the notified cases during 1959:-
