Puerperal Pyrexia.—69 cases were notified, the attack-rate being 1.54 per
1,000 births.
Ophthalmia Neonatorum.—39 cases were notified during 1938, representing
an attack-rate of 0.87 per 1,000 births.
Measles and Whooping Cough.—The County of London (Measles and
Whooping Cough) Regulations, 1938, requiring the notification of these two diseases
came into force on the 1st October, 1938. Notification is limited, however, to the first
case in the house within two months. From the 1st October to the end of the
year, 13 cases of Measles and 112 cases of Whooping Cough were notified.
