Tuberculosis of the Respiratory System (Phthisis or Pulmonary Tuberculosis),
caused 210 deaths, as contrasted with the decennial average of 259, while
the death-rate was 0 72 per 1,000 of the civil population as against the decennial
rate of 0.83 per 1,000. There was a decrease of 49 on the ten years' average number
