Illegitimate Births (184).—The illegitimate births numbered 184 and
show a decrease of 12 on the return of the year 1932. They were equal to a rate
of 4.0 per cent, of the total registered births.
Notification of Births Act, 1907. —3,491 live births were notified (exclusive of 81 stillborn), or 76 per cent, of the total number that were registered during the year.

DEATHS.
The deaths registered during- the year numbered 3,957 (exclusive of stillbirths),
while the death-rate was equal to 12.40 per 1,000 of the estimated population,
or 0.04 above that of the previous year (12.36), and 0.17 below the mean of
the preceding- ten years; whilst the death-rate of England and Wales was 12.3
and the 118 Great Towns 12.2.
