SCAVENGING.
Particulars are required in the Annual Report of any extension or improvement
during the year of methods of scavenging or refuse disposal, and a statement
as to the character and efficiency of the arrangements for the removal and disposal
of house refuse.
Mr. Wigfield, the Borough Cleansing Superintendent, kindly supplied me with
the following statement:—
(1) Street Sweeping. No material alteration has taken place with regard to
the mileage of streets swept during 1932 as compared with the previous
year.
(2) Two "Electricar" 3-ton hygienic, low-loading refuse collecting vehicles
were purchased and put into commission during the year.
