From the above statement it will be seen how the disease attacked people at
the various ages, viz.:
In every hundred cases 0.52 were under 1 year of age.
„ „ 8.98 were aged 1 to 5 years.
„ „ 9.36 were aged 5 to 15 years.
Prime ,, 24.97 were aged 15 to 25 years.*
of „ „ 40.38 were aged 25 to 45 years.
Life „ „ 18.19 were aged 45 to 65 years.
,, 2.59 were aged 65 and upwards.
*Referring to the first Table above, it will be seen under "Respiratory Tuberculosis"
that between the ages of 15 and 25, the males attacked number 54, while
the females reached 68.
PUBLIC HEALTH (TUBERCULOSIS) REGULATIONS, 1925.
These Regulations provide that no person suffering from respiratory tuberculosis
who is in an infective condition shall be engaged in any form of dairy work
involving the milking of cows, the treatment of milk, or the handling of
containers.
No case came to the notice of the Medical Officer of Health during the year
which called for action.
ISLINGTON INTERIM TUBERCULOSIS CARE COMMITTEE.
The character of the work of this Committee was fully exemplified in the
Medical Officer of Health's Annual Report for 1929, page 39, when individual cases
and methods of help were given.
During the year the work of the Committee has increased steadily in scope and
extent. The new cases received numbered 236, the number of visits were 1,362,
letters written 1,200, and interviews held 527.
