SEPTIC DISEASES.
Erysipelas and Puerperal Septicaemia are the principal diseases of this class.
Erysipelas.. 1G deaths were returned from this disease, or 3 more than in
the year 1929, and 6 above the average of the preceding. ten years 1920.29.
Puerperal Diseases..These comprise Puerperal Pytemia, Septictemia,
Septic Intoxication and Puerperal Eever, and they caused 7 deaths, being. 7 below
the return of 1929, and were 3 below the average of the ten years 1920.29. The
death.rate was equal to 1.2 per 1,000 births.
CANCER.
Cancer. .467 deaths were registered from this malignant disease during the
year compared with 471 in 1929, and with an average of 466 in the previous
iecennium. The deaths represent a death.rate of 1.43 per 1,000 of the civil
population and is 0.03 above the average rate (1.40) of the last ten years; 241
deaths otcurred among males and 22G among females. The following statement
shows the ages at death of the persons attacked during the past ten years, and tl.e
return for the year 1930:.

TUBERCULOSIS.
Tuberculosis caused 315 deaths, which were 75 below the average of the
last decennium, and were 30 below the number registered in 1929. The death.
rate resulting from them was equal to 0.97 per 1,000 of the civil population, and
represented 8.0 per cent. of the deaths from all causes during the year.
