CAeansing Station.
During the year 1.23 men were cleansed at the Council's Cleansing Station. Eightythree
were referred from Bruce House, Westminster, and 34 from Parker House, Parker
Street.
Under the agreement between the Council and the London County Council thirtyfour
school children were treated for head lice at the Station during the first three months
of the year. This agreement, however, was terminated by the London County Council
on the 31st March, owing to the small number of children involved. As a result the
services of the Council's part-time Women's Cleansing Attendant was dispensed with, and
arrangements were made with the Westminster City Council to cleanse women from the
Holborn area at a charge 1/- per person. Under this arrangement 18 women were cleansed
up to the end of the year.
