Factories Bill, 1927.
This Bill was introduced into the House of Commons in February, 1927, to consolidate
and amend the enactments relating to factories and workshops.
The Bill was on the same general lines as that introduced in the previous year by the
Government. In connection with the previous Bill (Factories No. 2, 1926), the Council
adopted a resolution directing the attention of the Minister of Health to the proposals
contained therein relative to the sanitary control of workshops and factories, and expressed
the opinion that the existing powers of control should continue to be the responsibility of
sanitary authorities.
