Ambulance Facilities
The London County Council is responsible under the National Health Service
Act. 1946 for the provision of ambulance facilities throughout the County.

HEALTH EDUCATION
Campaign re Smoking and Lung Cancer
The Council decided, on the recommendation of the Health Committee, to
undertake a Cancer Campaign in Hammersmith. The campaign was timed to
commence with the issue of the Royal College of Physicians Report on Cancer
in March, 1962. Literature and posters were supplied to many firms in the
Borough as well as Youth Clubs and similar organisations. An article also
appeared in a programme at one of the games of a local professional football club
in the Borough, at which over 10,000 people attended, and posters were also sent
for display.
