In view of the waiting list for children to be seen at the Child
Guidance Clinic, some were referred to other Child Psychiatrists
in the Borough from time to time if their cases warranted earlier
attention. Waiting time for the Child Guidance Clinic at Rochester
Way is now approximately 10 months.
Special Schools
At the Charlton Park School for physically handicapped pupils
177 children were on roll. In addition to her weekly attendance the
School Medical Officer visited on request and Orthopaedic, Ophthalmic
and Cardiological Consultants visited the school at regular
intervals during the year. Physiotherapy and Speech Therapy
classes continued to be held daily.
