(a) In respect of normal sampling.
T. 100	Tomato Sauce with Minced Beef, Canned	Contained an excessive amount of tin.	Stock withdrawn.
T. 125	Pure American Lard	Contained butylated hydroxytoluene 40 parts per million, the presence of which was not disclosed on the label.	Following representations suppliers agreed to amend label.
T. 162	Evaporated Fruit Salad	The sample was infested with mites.	Stock withdrawn. Manufacturer warned and that future offences would be likely to result in legal proceedings.
T. 262	Evaporated Fruit Salad	The sample had been attacked by insects and spoiled by their droppings and webbing.	Stock withdrawn and destroyed.
(A) In respect of samples taken under Imported Food Regulations.
TT. 13	Mustard Powder	The sample was deficient in Allyl isothiocyanate.	Observations from manufacturer stated that consignment intended for use as pickling mustard to which the Orders do not apply.
TT. 39	Rice	The sample was badly contaminated by carbon black and suitable only for animal use.	Sent for animal use.
TT. 40	Rice	The sample was heavily contaminated by carbon black.	Consignment destroyed.
TT. 87	Sprats, Canned	Contained Benzoic Acid 1500 parts per million an added preservative not permitted in this article.	Intended for ship's stores only. No action possible.
