The shops, a cinema and the railway station are within a short
walking distance from the hotel and if the entertainment at Westgate
Pavilion does not meet with approval then Margate, with all
its multifarious attractions, can be reached in a few minutes by
bus.
Westgate is a most convenient centre for visiting the beautiful
countryside of Kent and the many places of historical interest in
the Isle of Thanet and, for the more venturesome, trips to Canterbury with its Cathedral, Minster Abbey (reputed to be the oldest
in England), Ebbsfleet and Pegwell Bay (the centre of Saxon and
Roman landings) and the twin towers of Ancient Reculver. will
prove very rewarding.
