with a cup of hot tea with biscuits and an opportunity to sit and

Treatment room—In this room, designed mainly for the treatment
of verminous conditions, free-standing basins have been
installed, again in order that treatment may be conducted from

Greenwich Old People's Welfare Association.—This
association set up in July, 1954, co-ordinates the activities of Old
People's Clubs in the Borough which provide for the physical and
mental recreation of their members and although the association
obtains money from various sources such as the street appeal and
other donations, the bulk of the ?sscciation's expenditure is sust' ined

are extracts from the eighth Annual Report of the Association.
"Old People's Clubs—The Darby and Joan Clubs, Federation
Clubs and Church Clubs continue to increase in popularity, many
of them now having to keep a waiting list of elderly prospective
members. It gives us great pleasure to report that, with the cooperation
of the Church Authorities a new club known as ' The
St. Mary's Over 60 Club' has been opened at the church .§11 of
St. Mary's in Charlton Park Lane. Unfortunately due to iack of
accommodation, the club can only accommodate 50 members at
any time, but nevertheless, we feel that this is a very welcome addition

an interest outside of their own homes.
In addition to the above, the other 15 clubs continue to meet
weekly, providing pleasure, entertainment and companionship and
arranging individually many outings, shows, parties and other occasions
for the members' entertainment.
To the leaders of these clubs and their assistants, we would
say a very sincere ' thank you ' for the considerable amount of time
and labour they put in throughout the year on behalf of the old
people. Our appreciation must also be recorded to the Greenwich
Borough Council for the facilities granted in providing premises
where a number of clubs meet and also for the grant towards the
cost of heating, lighting and cleaning the Charlton Library Club,
where the Darby and Joan Club hold their weekly meetings.
Day Rooms at Community Centres—
