Care Committee.—In 1947 a fully representative Care Committee
was formed to replace the Handicrafts Committee. Mr.
Warlock was elected chairman, Mrs. Gibbons vice-chairman, and
Dr. Jeanes treasurer.
As the result of an appeal by the Mayor, the sum of well over
£300 was realised, and this, in addition to a grant from the Lord
Mayor of London's Air-Raid Distress Fund, has enabled the Committee
to extend its activities considerably. A new hut has been
built and equipped, and a regular weekly handicraft class is now
held.
In November 1947 an almoner, Miss M. Chave-Jones A.M.I.A.,
